About

Sophia was born in Amsterdam and left the Netherlands at age 24 after completing her bachelor’s degree in medical biology. She began creating websites, got into photography, ventured into fashion blogging, and infused her blog with Taoist philosophy, later describing it as her “online philosophy café.”

Initially, Sophia traveled the world, but she chose to stay in Indonesia a bit longer and ended up residing there for several years. Eventually, she settled in Portugal and currently lives in Lisbon.

Two years ago, Sophia began writing, and her words quickly turned into her debut novel, Violet Syrup, a philosophical story about traveling and self-discovery. She self-published the book with assistance from a Dutch publisher, selling around a thousand copies within the first five months of release.

Now, she’s working on her second novel, a fictional story set in Andalusia, inspired by a significant event in the life of someone close to her. She’s currently seeking a literary agent to represent her work—please reach out if you’re interested in reviewing her manuscript.
